Joshua Ellis was founded as a cloth maker by the Ellis family in 1767 and diversified into woolen textile manufacturing a few years later. Since then, only 3 families have owned the family business. Joshua Ellis' main focus today is to protect the working lives of the 60 employees and to ensure that the house's great reputation for quality is maintained in order to be armed for the next 250 years.

The family business has always worked with the philosophy of creating the best since the 18th century and has produced a small separate collection for MJ, which is strictly limited in number.
