Our friendly connection with Douglas Cordeaux, the owner of the legendary Fox Brothers weaving mill, put us in touch with Kenichi Kusano. He is the founder, designer, and owner of Kenneth Field. A Japanese collection whose pieces draw inspiration from traditional workwear, U.S. Army icons, and classic Ivy League style. Kenichi—known to friends as “Kenny”—is a one-of-a-kind, one-man operation driven by immense passion and a meticulous attention to detail.

Here is his "Corduroy Gurka." A pair of chinos featuring the distinctive waistband of the historic Gurkha pants.

The Nepalese soldiers serving in the British Indian Army took particular pride in their appearance and had perfect dress pants tailored based on the pattern of their riding breeches. Later, these cuts were reflected in the chinos worn by West Point cadets.
