Scarf "SHIMLA" made of the finest hand-embroidered pashmina cashmere—entirely handmade

Yaser Shaw uses only cashmere wool from local goats. These goats live at an elevation of 4,000 meters above sea level and grow a thick undercoat in the winter to protect themselves from the freezing temperatures.
During the spring molting season, this undercoat is combed out, and the finest and longest fibers are spun by hand. The combing process alone can take up to 6 hours and is carried out only by experienced specialists under constant supervision to protect the animals.

Pilling is virtually impossible due to the texture and length of the naturally grown fibers. In addition, the dyes are derived from natural sources, and the cashmere yarn is dyed by hand using a labor-intensive process.

In keeping with historical tradition, the fabric is woven on wooden handlooms and embroidered by hand. In Indian tradition, weaving is the work of women, while men embroider these wonderful works of art. From combing the cashmere wool to the finished scarf, the process takes up to 9 months, depending on the size. Upon completion, the artisans embroider their initials on the end of the scarf, and this entire process makes each scarf a luxurious, one-of-a-kind piece.
